Vermont watercolorist Gloria Palmer has always had an interest in the arts, and over the years has experimented with a wide variety of methods and mediums. In 2011 she enrolled in a watercolor workshop at Southern Vermont Arts Center and fell in love with the medium. She loves the fluidity of the paints and the challenges that come with it. She finishes each piece with what has become her signature spattered dots.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Gloria has lived in Vermont since her teens. She is the Executive Director of Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning, a non-profit organization that provides educational programs for adults in Manchester and surrounding communities. She has served as president of Burr and Burton’s Alumni Association Board and chaired its Alumni Arts Award Committee. In 2016 she took up pickleball and is now a certified pickleball instructor. Her greatest role, though, is mother to her daughters, Kristen and Charlotte. Gloria resides in Dorset, Vermont.
